What a magnificent day. Up early and into Canada Place to catch the shuttle to the suspension bridge. As it was the Canada vs Switzerland soccer match in Vancouver, we figured it would be a good day to beat the crowds.
A bit of map reading.Love these girls.Clinging to the rails. Remember, Wayne hates heights. He did well – just didn’t look down or sideways so saw nothing.‘Friends’ to sandwich between on the suspension bridge. No fear here!
We walked the suspension bridge, did the Tree top walk, wandered around the park, learnt about the Banana slug, Harris Hawk and owl, and navigated the cliff walk (Wayne and Donna opted for fudge shopping).

We then caught the local bus to Grouse Mountain. Unfortunately, on one of our first walks around the park, Madonna twisted her ankle. Brave girl, however. Endured the pain and continued on.
Ski lift up Grouse Mountain. Wayne can’t turn around. Clinging to the lift rail with white knuckles.Rescuing Wayne when he fell out the chair lift. This is where I mention that Wayne had fallen down the house steps the afternoon before. Didn’t quite recover in his usual ‘like a panther’ style. Two rescue bears – Coola and GrinderThis bear came right up to Dave. He didn’t even notice and even if he had, his phone was back at the house on-charge. Prime position!Mark is more scary than the bear. Beautiful daddy. Snow on the peaks of the mountains behind us.Hard to believe this was Wayne’s brother, Al, in the same position just a month ago.
Shuttle bus and uber for six back to the house. Jo and Dave stayed in town which was heaving with all the Canadian soccer supporters (despite just losing to Switzerland). Dave and Jo couldn’t get in to any establishment so opted for a haircut and manicure.
Danny, Wayne and I went foraging for food (and liquor). The three of us made a great team. We obtained our list of products within 30 minutes. We ran into Jo and Dave on our walk back who were able to assist us with alcohol selection and carrying the groceries.
Donna and Mark made pizzas with all the left-overs and we enjoyed stories and laughs until bedtime at 11pm. A number of yellow cards (inappropriate) and the occasional ‘48’ (same story told twice within 48 hours) called.
Yellow card.9:45 at night and the hat came out. This photo was just before we had to go inside due to noise restrictions. Vietnam 2017 – Not Wayne’s first time in one of those hats!
