Days 15 and 16

July 7: Banff

Shorter drive today. Another couple of ‘getting lost’ moments but other than that relatively incident-free.

Breakfast of champions – potato chips and raspberry lollies.

Madonna, Mark and Wayne braved the shops and we had Donna and Mark’s home-cooked burrito bowls for dinner.

Not much left after 8 hungry campers dipped in.
Danny had a little incident with his bowl.

Up at 4am to watch QLD lose the State of Origin.

Day 16: The day of lakes

Not happy, Jan!

We then drove to Lake Louise Drive to catch the shuttle bus to the two lakes.

Lake Moraine – so picturesque. Shame there were a million people (hyperbole) viewing them alongside us.

We then travelled to Lake Louise.

Lake Louise – crystal-clear, turquoise and milky-blue water.
Quill – the bear hit by a car and so he didn’t go to waste, is now used for educational purposes.
Look at this merman!

Next lake was Peyto Lake. Parking was a navigational nightmare but the parking luck came to Dan and we snared a couple (Dave had to move his car as it was sticking out too much).

Peyto Lake – despite the smokey haze, still magical and an amazing shape (wolf head).

Last lake for today was Lake Bow.

Lake Bow – exquisite!
